This combination of an 8-day Croatia Sail + 7-day Bosnia-Herzegovina tour is completely unique to us - we are the ONLY company combining Croatia sails with tours that REALLY explore Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The 8-day Split return cruise starts in Split, heads to Dubrovnik and back to Split. The cruise is all about the islands and coast of Croatia: the best places for combining sightseeing and swims with the best restaurants, bars and nightlife. Right after the sail we leave for Bosnia - a packed itinerary that features Mostar, Sarajevo, lakes, rivers, mountains and more
.

The itinerary is designed to give you the best of all worlds: sightseeing, swimming, hiking, wine-tasting and relaxing, with excursion options, nights out, and events in the late afternoons and evenings.

With our experienced, fun crew, like-minded tour-mates (mostly aged 18-39) an amazing ensuite boat, small tour sizes, and a knowledgeable Bosnian guide, you are in the right hands for the trip of a lifetime!

Day 1

Split to Makarska

Jump on board and meet your Captain, crew and shipmates! We depart Split for Makarska at 1pm and get the socialising started with lunch and a swim stop.

We get into Makarska late in the afternoon, giving you time to go around the town, grab a gelato and have dinner in one of the many restaurants, pizzerias and tavernas that line the promenade. The most popular way to spend the night is at the famous Club Deep, also known as the "Rave in a Cave". Say no more.....

Day 2

Makarska to Mljet (Slano)

Our boat leaves early for the crossing to Mljet Island. After lunch, we will dock in either Pomena or Polace and have the rest of the afternoon free to explore this island's stunning National Park and its lakes - the peaceful antidote to Makarska's hedonism!

There are several options for this exploration: hire a bike for a few hours and pedal your way around the lakes' cycle paths, hire a kayak for paddle-power or simply go hiking. If the docks on Mljet are too crowded, we will cruise over to Slano to overnight there. We also offer an onboard BBQ this evening on Mljet or in Slano as the setting is perfect.

Optional excursions: Entrance to Mljet National Park (approx 100 kunas), bike or kayak hire (from 40 kunas), Captain's BBQ (approx 100 to 150 kunas, depending on inclusions).

Day 3

Mljet (or Slano) to Dubrovnik

With some gorgeous bays around Mljet island and Slano, we are spoilt for choice for a swim stop this morning. We then cross to Dubrovnik through the Elphaite archipelago of islands - a truly amazing sight.

We arrive in Dubrovnik in the early afternoon, which gives you time for some must-dos, including a sunset walk around the famous walls and sampling a cocktail at one of the cliff bars as you watch the sun go down.

There are plenty of restaurants to choose from in and around the Old City, as well as events at clubs such as Revelin.

Optional excursions: (1) Dubrovnik is also the setting for the capital city of Westeros, Kings Landing, in Game of Thrones. If you are a fan, why not take a walking tour of the locations of the most famous scenes in the ultra-popular show and get an overview of the history of Dubrovnik at the same time? If you are not a GOT fan then we also have a dedicated Dubrovnik Historical Walk that focuses on the city's non-fictional history.

(2) Close to where your boat docks in Gruz port, there is a secluded beach with a 250-metre long ZIPLINE! We can arrange transfer there and back, with a zipline ride (or 2!) included in the excursion.

Day 4

Dubrovnik

We have 2 days in Dubrovnik as there is so much to do here!
We recommend: (1) Doing the awesome buggy safari - you are taken to Mount Srd to get a bird's eye view of the Old City and Elaphite Isles before driving an off-road buggy around the mountain. Unmissable!

(2)Taking a cable car ride up to Mount Srd for the most incredible view imaginable (note: buggy trip takes you past same cable car station for same view at no exra cost!).

(3) If you missed the chance to do the walking tours yesterday, then you can also do them today. Dubrovnik is the setting for the capital city of Westeros, Kings Landing, in Game of Thrones.

(4) Take a shuttle boat over to Lokrum Island from the Old City.

There is no lunch today - you have dinner instead! Dinner is served onboard at 6.30pm and then the evening is yours again to enjoy in the Old City. Overnight on the boat in Dubrovnik.

Optional excursions: Buggy Safari and/or Game of Thrones+Dubrovnik Walking Tour.

Day 5

Dubrovnik to Korcula

It's goodbye to Dubrovnik and hello to more incredible scenery as we head to Korcula Island, which is said to be the birthplace of Marco Polo. The Old City (with the same name as the island) is another gem which hosts a small street party in the evening at the Deja Vu Bar!

Optional excursion: Wine-tasting in Korcula Old Town

Day 6

Korcula to Hvar Island (Hvar Town or Stari Grad)

Hvar is rated as one of the highlights of the trip and it's not hard to see why. Its pocket harbour is a thing of beauty but you only get to truly appreciate it after climbing up to the fort that overlooks everything in the bay.
We arrive after lunch but often we are not able to dock until late afternoon until due to port restrictions. We strongly recommend taking a water taxi over to the city to get there earlier (3-4 Euros per person payable directly to the taxi).
Hvar's nightlife is also legendary and we recommend catching the sunset at Hula Hula bar and taking the organised shuttle boat over to Carpe Diem - the famous "club on an island".

IMPORTANT: Hvar Town's small port is often overcrowded in peak months (end of Jun to end of Aug) and the port authority may order the boat to dock elsewhere, such as Stari Grad, about 35 mins by bus from Hvar Town.

Day 7

Hvar Island to Split

Our final, full day starts with a swim stop at one of the many Pakleni Islands near Hvar and continues as we cruise past Brac Island on the way to the biggest town on the Dalmatian coast: Split.
In the afternoon we dock back into Split, with enough time to take in some of the inspiring sights of this city, including Diocletian's Palace and Bacvice Beach.

Optional excursion: Cetina River Rafting near Omis

Day 8

Split to Kravica Waterfalls and Mostar

After breakfast it is time to say goodbye to your shipmates and crew. Check-out from the boat is by 9am and then it's onto Bosnia!

Your Go Croatia Sail representative will provide you with a ticket for the 9.30am bus from Split Bus Station that crosses the Croatian-Bosnian border. You will leave the bus just over the border in Capljina, where your Go Bosnia guide will be waiting for you with the main tour vehicle, ready to take you to Kravica Waterfalls (entrance included).

The most striking feature of Kravica Waterfalls is not only the sheer breadth and number of cascades, but the opportunity to swim in and jump around the pools – it is literally a natural water-fun park! You can also grab a light lunch here – there are small cafes here serving simple dishes.

We reach Mostar in the late afternoon, with time to check in to our accommodation and have a quick orientation walk with your tour leader. We then have the evening free to enjoy dinner, the nightlife and be blown away by how this beautiful city looks at night. Overnight Mostar.

Day 9

Mostar - WHOLE DAY

After breakfast, you have a choice of either exploring the city on your own (your tour leader can recommend the main museums and attractions to visit) or choose to do the Mostar Walking Tour (16 Euros). This tour starts at 10am and is 2 hrs long. It includes a local, English-speaking guide and covers the Old City areas. After the tour, there are many highlights to explore on your own, such as the Old bridge museum, where you can choose to actually get inside the famous bridge.

See full details on the excursions page.
Overnight Mostar.

Day 10

Mostar to Konjic to Sarajevo

We leave Mostar early this morning to reach Konjic about an hour later as there are different options for adventure in this region:

Rafting on the famous Neretva River (40 Euros): Konjic is famous for Rafting and the Neretva is a breath-taking river to do it on. The rafting experience (including BBQ stop!) lasts about 3.5 hrs and is lower intermediate-level, perfect for both first-timers and those who have rafted before.

OR

Plunge pool hike (FREE): A short hike up to a natural beauty spot that features a plunge pool. Jump in if you fancy it - the water's so inviting!

See full details on the excursions page. Please note that only one excursion can be chosen on this day as they run at the same time.

After our Konjic adventures, we arrive in Sarajevo in the evening, which gives us enough time to check in, grab some dinner and then (if you have enough energy), go out to experience some Sarajevan nightlife!
Overnight Sarajevo.
Neretva Rafting and Sarajevo at night

Day 11

Sarajevo - WHOLE DAY

Breakfast is served from 8.30am and then the rest of the day is free to explore Sarajevo City as we wish. It is the tour leader’s day off but he can give us plenty of tips and a map for the day as there is so much to see in Sarajevo! Highlights include the Turkish Quarter, the bazaars, eternal flame, the Sebilj fountain, the brewery bar etc.

2 optional excursions that can BOTH be done on the day: (1) There is the option of getting a fascinating, in-depth walking tour of this incredible city with a local guide. Leaves at 10am and lasts about 2.5 hrs (12 Eur per person).

(2) Bosnian Cooking Class (35 Euros): HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! This excursion starts with pick-up around 1pm from Sarajevo and continues until 6pm (sometimes longer!). This experience is consistently rated as the ultimate experience on the tour. Bosnian cuisine is tasty, filling and fun to make! Create local specialities such as japrak, dolma and 2 kinds of pastry pies (cheese and potato). Then get stuck in and eat your mouth-watering creations! Also includes salad, home-made organic wine, juice and mezze. See full details on the excursions page.
Overnight Sarajevo.
Sebilj and Mosque in Sarajevo

Day 12

Sarajevo Tunnel and Bjelasnica Mountain

So far, we have travelled from Croatia’s Mediterranean coast, to the rivers and lakes of Herzegovina, and finished in Sarajevo city. Today we head for Bosnia’s mountains!

After breakfast we head for Sarajevo’s most famous attraction – the War Tunnel, which is close to the main airport. Your tour leader will run through how important this tunnel and its museum was to the survival of Sarajevo. During our visit we will get a chance to see footage from the conflict, see the ration packs used by those enduring the siege and pass through the last remaining section of the tunnel that was dug in secret under the airport.

We then leave for Bjelasnica mountain to visit Lukomir, which is truly one of the “frozen in time” experiences that touches visitors to this magical country. We have a light hike (15 to 20 mins) around the village and a nearby peak before returning to our mountain hotel accommodation.
Overnight on the mountain.
Bjelasnica and Lukomir

Day 13

Blagaj and Trebinje

In the morning, we depart the mountain and drive back towards Herzegovina, stopping in breathtaking Blagaj, home to a Dervish monastery next to the source of a river that literally bursts from the base of a mountain. The setting is so stunning, you won't believe it's real! We are proud to include this highlight that most Bosnia tours miss out.

Blagaj is one of the best places in Herzegovina to grab lunch as the location is so spectacular. We then head to a location near Trebinje for a stop that everyone seems to love: wine-tasting! This tasting session is included and we arrive in Trebinje town in the late afternoon, having had our eyes and taste-buds spoilt all day.

Overnight Trebinje.
Sarajevo Tunnel and Zabljak Zipline

Day 14

Trebinje

After breakfast, the tour officially finishes. But your adventure does not need to stop here!

Trebinje is well-connected by bus to Dubrovnik (less than 1 hour away), Kotor and Budva (Montenegro), Tivat (for Montenegro's main coastal airport), Belgrade (Serbia) and beyond.
