Where to Stay Before Your Go Croatia Sail Trip:
Port & Accommodation Guide
Finding your Go Croatia Sail boat is straightforward. Knowing which port you’re departing from and where to stay nearby makes check-in much smoother.
Our boats depart from Split (Trogir) and Dubrovnik, with designated docking areas for each.
Choosing accommodation close to your departure port saves time and ensures a stress-free start to your 2026 Mediterranean summer.
Departing from Trogir
For our Split routes, your boat docks at the Trogir Municipal Pier, along the Riva waterfront. This historic area is just a short walk from the Old Town on the mainland side (not Čiovo Island).
Finding your boat
The Port Authority assigns docking positions weekly, so we cannot provide a fixed berth in advance. However, you can easily spot your vessel:
- Look for the Name: Check for your boat (e.g., Otac Duje or Le Cordea).
- Identify the Banner: Look for the signature red Go Croatia Sail banner on the mast lines and side railings.
- The "Rafting" Rule: Boats often dock side-by-side. If yours is several rows back, simply board the first boat and cross each one until you reach yours.
Where to Stay in Trogir
Trogir is small and easy to walk around, so you’ll never be far from the port. The Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the perfect place to relax before your trip begins.- Trogir Old Town & Riva: Stay here for maximum convenience. You’ll be minutes from the pier and surrounded by UNESCO-protected cobblestone streets and cafés.
- Čiovo Island (Near the Bridge): Areas like Saldun Bay or Mastrinka offer a quieter vibe and are still within a 10–15 minute stroll of the harbour.
- Avoid Seget Donji: We recommend avoiding Marina Baotić (Seget Donji). It is 2 km west of the town centre and is not part of our docking program.
Trogir offers a good mix of boutique hotels, guesthouses, and affordable apartments. Many are within easy reach of the harbour. Check Hostelworld to find the right accommodation for you.
Departing from Dubrovnik
In Dubrovnik, our boats dock at Luka Gruž (the Port of Gruž). This is the main ferry terminal and is located near the central bus station.
Note: Gruž Port is a 15-minute bus or taxi ride away from the Old City (Old Town).
Finding your boat
- The Location: Most boats dock near the ferry terminal, but if the port is crowded, the Authority may move us further up under the Franjo Tuđman Bridge.
- Check Your Pre-departures: Refer to your pre-departure document for the exact weekly docking zone.
- Spot the Red Banner: As in Trogir, look for the large red Go Croatia Sail sign on the railings to confirm you are in the right place.
Where to Stay in Dubrovnik
- Gruž: This is the most convenient area for embarkation day and often offers better rates for apartments and hostels.
- The Old City: More picturesque and iconic, but expect higher prices and a 15-minute commute to the boat on Saturday morning.
- Booking Tip: Use Hostelworld to compare boutique hostels and guesthouses in both areas to find the best fit for your budget.
Getting to the ports
Getting to your small ship cruise is simple with Croatia’s well-connected airports:
- Trogir Departures: Fly into Split Airport (SPU). It is only 10 minutes from the Trogir Riva by taxi or shuttle.
- Dubrovnik Departures: Fly into Dubrovnik Airport (DBV). It is approximately 30 minutes by taxi or airport shuttle to Gruž Port.
Both airports offer reliable shuttle buses that connect directly to the main bus terminals located near our docking spots.
